Part-time, Entry-Level Retail Operations Assistant - Direct-to-Consumer Buffalo and Elk Meat Company (Jackson Hole Buffalo Meat Co.)
We are a 75-year old leading provider of premium, sustainably sourced buffalo and elk meat products sold directly to consumers nationwide and to locals and visitors to our retail shop in Jackson. As we continue to grow our operations, we are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Entry-Level Retail Operations Assistant.
As the Entry-Level Retail Operations Assistant, you will play an integral role in supporting the day-to-day operations of our retail store and our thriving direct-to-consumer business. Working closely alongside our experienced Operations Manager, you will dive headfirst into various tasks that contribute to the smooth workflow, outstanding customer service, and efficient retail operations we pride ourselves on. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the e-commerce and food/ag industry and contribute to our mission of providing customers with exceptional game meat products.
In this role, your schedule will allow for flexibility while still ensuring an optimal work-life balance. On Sunday afternoons while the shop is closed, you'll be responsible for packing boxes that will ship out to hungry customers on Monday. During M-F workweek shifts, you'll actively contribute to the success of our e-commerce and retail operations, ensuring that our customers have the best experience possible. Support the Operations Manager in coordinating and executing daily retail operations, including inventory management, visual merchandising, and store maintenance.
Assist in monitoring inventory levels, ensuring adequate stock availability and implementing inventory control procedures.
Help maintain the cleanliness and organization of the retail space to create an inviting and visually appealing shopping environment.
Assist in providing excellent customer service, including answering customer inquiries, processing transactions, and addressing customer concerns.
Collaborate with the retail team to ensure accurate pricing, labeling, and placement of products.
Aid in the implementation of promotional campaigns and initiatives, such as product displays and signage.
Assist in conducting regular stock checks and reconciling discrepancies.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations to maintain a safe and productive work environment.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Passion for customer service and a desire to learn and grow in a dynamic environment.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Fluent in English.
Ability to work well in a team and follow instructions effectively.
Basic computer skills and familiarity with Shopify and point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.
Knowledge or interest in the game meat industry and sustainable food practices is advantageous.
Compensation: $25/hour, employee discount, paid break(s).
